The purpose of the Air India road show is to make potential investors aware of the current strength of the national airline and better investment conditions. Air India CMD Ashwani Lohani is giving a presentation of Air India through this road show.

This is the first road show in the Modi government's second attempt to sell Air India. According to sources, the government may bring EOI i.e. expression of interest for Air India disinvestment in November. The government aims to complete the Air India disinvestment in the current financial year. According to sources, prospective investors will be allowed to view select accounts of Air India.

According to sources, the government is speeding up the disinvestment process. Prior to issuing EOI, an important meeting of Alternative Mechanism for Air India disinvestment is going to be held in November itself. Home Minister Amit Shah is the head of Air India Specific Alternative Mechanism (AISAM). Let us tell you that Air India has a debt of about 58000 crore rupees. An official of the Ministry of Civil Aviation is also present during the Air India road show to be held in Mumbai.
