RBI set up a committee to review ATM Transaction charges

It has been issued by the RBI and said that the committee has been constituted for this which will be taking a final decision in this regard very soon. Secondly, the ATM operators are demanding an increase in the charge, while the bank wants to increase the charge if there is no increase in the cut.

Before taking any decision in this matter, the RBI committee will meet with all stake holders including the Confederation of ATM Industry (CATMi), the Indian Bank Association, and will arrive at the right conclusions. This committee will present its report within 2 months. CATMi has been consistently saying that the charge should be increased, because operational costs have become costly due to technology upgradation.
