Google Chief Executive
Officer (CEO) Sundar Pichai said in spite of the concerns raised by the social
media companies about abuse of users' personal information, their company will
never sell their personal information to third parties. Pichai told in an
article in The New York Times that privacy can never be like luxury goods and
can not be available only to those who are capable of buying premium products
and services.
Privacy One of the most
important topics
He said, 'I believe that
privacy is one of the most important topics of our time. Today, people have a
right to worry about how their information is being used and which ones are
being shared with them, so they are all defining privacy in their own way.
Google is clear about two
policies
Pichai said, "To make
the reality true, we give you clear and meaningful choices regarding your
information. Google is clear about two policies, first, Google will never sell
private information to any third party, and secondly you get to decide how your
information is used.
He said, 'privacy for the
family using a shared device can also mean privacy. Privacy for small
businesses wishing to start accepting credit card payments can mean keeping
customers' information safe. For privacy youth, privacy can mean the removal of
photographs in the future.'
They believed that privacy
is personal. This makes it more important for companies to give people more
explicit personal choice about the use of information related to them. He said
that by making laws, companies like Google will be able to work towards
ensuring privacy protection for more people across the world.
Pichai said, 'But we are not
waiting for it. We have the responsibility to lead. We will do this with the
same feeling that we have always worked. We will introduce products that make
confidential a reality for everyone.'
