Market capitalization of
five of the top ten companies of the Sensex rose by Rs 35,503 crore in the last
week. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has seen the highest growth in the market
capitalization (M-CAP). TCS, ITC, Infosys, State Bank of India (SBI) and ICICI
Bank's M-Cap gained in the week ended Friday while capital inflows of Reliance
Industries, HDFC Bank, Hindustan Unilever, HDFC and Kotak Mahindra Bank
declined.
TCS's market cap increased
by Rs 24,671.93 crore to Rs 7,47,343.7 crore. ITC's market capitalization went
up by Rs 4,328.83 crore to Rs 3,40,369.6 crore and Infosys rose by Rs 3,407.55
crore to Rs 3,23,782.7 crore. State Bank of India's M-Cap rose by Rs 1,963.41
crore to Rs 2,43,597.3 crore and ICICI Bank's market capitalization rose by Rs
1,131.27 crore to Rs 2,27,770.4 crore. On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever's
market capitalization dropped by Rs 7,110.87 crore to Rs 3,75,555.8 crore.
HDFC's M-Cap dropped by Rs
4,344.84 crore to Rs 3,19,880.7 crore and Reliance Industries's capital
declined by Rs 3,739.81 crore to Rs 7,77,564.2 crore. Kotak Mahindra Bank's
capitalization dropped by Rs 2,757.11 crore to Rs 2,34,039.5 crore and HDFC
Bank's M-Cap dropped to Rs 2,300.05 crore to Rs 5,67,036.2 crore.
In terms of market
capitalization, Reliance Industries topped the list of top ten companies. This
is followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Infosys, HDFC, SBI,
Kotak Mahindra Bank and ICICI Bank. Last week, the Sensex closed at 192.33, or
0.57 percent, at 36,063.81.
