Japan's automaker Honda will
introduce a new version of its sedan car Honda Civic in India next month. The
company gave this information on Wednesday. After this, Honda will have four
sedan cars with Amaze, City, Accord and New Civic. The company will have
products of various prices to meet the needs of the wide range of customers.
Honda Cars India Limited Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Gaku Nakanishi
said that with the new Civic car that will be launched next month, we will
complete our sedan category in India.
India came to Civic in 2006
The company had introduced
Civic in India in 2006 and after closing 55,000 cars, it was closed in 2013.
Responding to the new Civic, Nakanishi said that it will help the company to
stand firm again in the sedan category.

In the executive sedan
category, about 10,000 units are sold every year in the country. This category
is dominated by Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla. He said that
new civic petrol and diesel versions will be offered in both versions.

The gasoline version will
come with 1.8 liter engine and CVT (automatic) transmission whereas diesel
version will come with 1.6 liters of engine and manual six speed transmission.
According to the company, gasoline version will be 16.5 kilometers per liter
while diesel version will provide mileage of 26.8 kilometers per liter.
